On a chilly November evening in 2016, a couple of invites to a party in DC would shape the course of history. Caroline was invited by her close friend, Lucy, who was newly dating her now husband, a young man by the name of Charlie Shoenthaler. Charlie, a good friend of Devin’s from College of Charleston, invited Devin. Devin, a single eligible bachelor, coming in HOT straight from a Caps W sporting his Peter Bondra jersey quickly caught Caroline’s eye being fresh off a breakup. The two struck up conversation finding mutual ground over the game of hockey. Devin recognized her last name having played hockey against her brothers in high school, and they started playing “the name game.” After passing Caroline’s test, the two shared many drinks that evening hardly speaking to anyone else at the party and subsequent bars. Devin was struck by Caroline’s beauty, her knowledge of sports, kindness, and her infectious giggle. Caroline took a liking to his ability to make her laugh and his unique love for the band Oasis, and his passion for their new documentary at the time (which he would not shut up about), urging her to watch. After that night, the two were puzzled by the fact that they had not met previously both having played hockey locally and sharing many mutual friends. This would be the start of a beautiful friendship that would shape their lives forever and it was only a matter of time before their adventurous relationship would lead them to this point. A couple of invites to a party in 2016 and now it is time for them to return the favor. We would not have drawn up this play any other way!
